We think this is a fabulous deciduous suckering shrub. It has handsome green heart shaped leaves. Deep purple buds open into large domed heads of rose pink scented flowers in late summer. Best in a sunny position in well drained soil. Encourages insects. Prune back in autumn.
Tips: apply a dry mulch of fallen leaves in winter for extra protection
